1. I just received this Schwinn Loop 7-Speed Folding Bike from Amazon last week, set it up immediately, and only took it to the bike store to make sure of everything. It does NOT ride like a toy, as one customer said, but is far more steady than any Dahon I've ridden. It's a bit too heavy for me to lift up, but others may not find that a problem. Once you get the catch open - it's difficult because a lot of pressure is needed, but that's for safety reasons - it folds easily. For a man, this would be easier. An absolute pleasure to have the LOOP AT THE BOTTOM, AND NOT TO HAVE TO PUT MY LEG OVER A HIGHER BAR. The handle bar is fixed and can't be adjusted, but it's fine for me. The seat is adjustable, though. Goes up hills easily. This is far superior to the citizen bikes, in my opinion, with their rickety chain that falls off easily. It is rather larger than appears in the pictures, so look at the specifications carefully. I was surprised that Schwinn put it into such a shabby carton for the trip from China and then to other places before it came to me. All I did was rip the side of the carton open, and the bike slid out (folded, of course.)
2. What a fun little bike this is ! This Schwinn Loop 7-Speed Folding Bike folds well, they were very thoughtful about the placement of everything when folded. It's very sturdy.I compared it to the Dahon, and while that is very slick and expensive this serves the purpose just as well.It does ride like a toy bike but with 20" wheels thats about what you expect. My range on it is about 10 miles round trip. That's about as far as i'm willing to go. More than that and you'd want a big bike. But it is perfect for city shopping and upstairs apartment living. I would buy it again.
Oh, you do want to take it to the bike shop for a tune up and adjustments beofre you ride it, though. I hear that's normal for all online bikes. The bike shops tune and adjust for you if you buy from them. Add that to the cost when thinking about prices.

How does it feel to ride a Folding Bike?

You may be asking yourself, how can riding something with 16” wheels possibly be enjoyable. Does it take twice the effort to cover the same distance? Is it comfortable? How will it do on hills? What about rough terrain? If you are like I was, you have tons of questions about the Brompton and you want answers before you make that kind of investment.
I believe there is no better way to get answers than from someone with personal experience. I’m going to try to answer those burning questions from my own experience as a Brompton rider.

The Brompton rides like a regular bike

Riding a Brompton takes no more effort than riding any other bike. Keep in mind, I am riding the 6 speed Brompton model with the M style handlebar. The ride feels much like riding a full size bike. I had been riding a full size modified mountain bike and I anticipated that with such a small wheel size riding this bike would feel like it was taking twice as long to cover the same distance. That is just not the case. I really do feel like I get where I need to go just as easily.

The Brompton: a question of comfort

The Brompton is surprisingly comfortable. The M style handlebar puts me a position where I am sitting a bit more upright. There are other handlebar styles if this is not your preferred position. When I took my first ride, the only thing I can say is that it felt different. In many ways it is actually more comfortable than a full size bike.
The first thing that comes to mind is how easy it is to get on and off this bike. For the first time in many years of riding I am able to get off the bike while it is still in motion and that feels awesome and can be an asset when you are in a hurry. I did make one modification for comfort purposes. I changed the seat from the standard Brompton seat to a Brooks saddle. I had heard so many great things about the Brooks Saddle that I decided I needed to try one. Love it! It just made my already comfortable bike even better.

How does the Brompton perform on hills?

How does it handle hills? I have ridden it on the California coastal highway 101. If you haven’t been there, it is one climb after another. I have ridden it in the farm country of Pennsylvania. My Brompton has traveled the East coast, and California to Maryland. I am preparing to take it all around the world and I am confident it will do well. On the uphill, it pays to have the 6 speeds. On the downhill, I would not take it above 25 miles an hour, but that is just my preference. I don’t enjoy riding fast. I do know riders that have taken the downhills up to 45 miles an hour. I am traveling to enjoy the ride so speed is not an issue for me.
